Policy for Canceling Sunday Morning Service Communicated
In the event that severe weather, or any other condition affects the safety of gathering at the church facility, makes it advisable to cancel Sunday morning services, the decision to cancel will be make according to the following procedure:
1. The Church Chairman, in consultation with the Head Elder, Property Chairperson and at least one of the Pastors, will make the final decision.
2. Every attempt will be make to arrive at a decision by 6:00 pm on Saturday in order to allow ample time for notification to be made
3. The decision may include the cancellation on only the 8:15 am service, the 8:15 service and the 9:45 Sunday School hour, or both services and the Sunday School hour, depending upon the forecasted conditions.
4. Once the decision has been made and announced, it will not be changed, even if conditions changed.
5. If all morning services are cancelled, then it will be assumed that any other services or activities scheduled for that Sunday are cancelled.
6. Notification of cancellation will be made in four ways:
- Broadcast on the radio station WMBI (90.1 FM);
- Message placed on the church voice mail so that people can call the church office to find out if services are cancelled
- Posted on the church website (efcw.net)
- Posted on the church entrance doors.
